We recently tasted this wine, just at a time when we felt it about time to have another Fleurie producer: to sit along side our already excellent Dominique Morel Fleurie from Domaine Gry Sablon, as this ticks all the boxes.
A family owned estate in the heart of the appellation based in an 18th century Chateau.
Old vine and low yields have made an excellent example despite the warm vintage. Expressive nose of wild cherries and blossom, lovely crunchy mouthfeel with good balance of fruit, alcohol and acidity. The wine spends some time in larger older oak barrels to add greater depth and complexity, which it duly does.
I highly recommend people look at Cru Beaujolais villages if they are looking for better value red burgundy than the wines further north.
