Somewhat Known Chardonnay, Banghoek, South Africa 2023

This is the second vintage of this wine and has only just landed… and we can’t wait to sample it! Made by the hugely talented your winemaker JD Rossouw, this wine comes from two parcels of grapes from Zorgfleit: one went into small oak French oak barrels (Green Flash Sunset Chardonnay) and this wine went into large Austrian oak barrels made by Stockinger (seriously expensive oak barrels, Eric had cleverly managed to haul over to SA). They are therefore very different in style.

This is far more reserved, but with inviting ripe apple/pear and spicy fruits with a hint of oak in the background add the texture. 12.5%vol.
