We were excited to taste these two wines under the ‘Triangle’ label, which are made by a joint venture with Ben at Indigo and Dirk Niepoort, whose wines we have championed over the years. Do try his Consico Branco if you ever get the chance; this is in a similar vein as has amazing weight, texture but also acidity. It is complex without being clumsy or clunky.
Made from old vines grown at altitude in the Douro of 400 – 550 metres above sea level.
It undergoes full malolactic ferment and spends one year ageing in old large oak barrels, this gives the wine its creaminess / texture but as said still freshness from the part aged in stainless steel vats. Undergoes light filtration but no fining. 13% vol.
